We are often reminded that others are watching us as Christ-followers, which is true; people are watching. Just recently, Brenda and I have been reminded of this truth in a couple of different ways. It reminded us that living our faith every day is a vital part of our Christian walk and relationship with our God. We don’t just live our faith in the BIG things but in all things, even the small stuff.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

One afternoon, we had stopped by a local restaurant for a quick bite. We placed our order and waited. Once our food came to the table, we did what we always do; we prayed for the provision that God provided\u00a0<\/span>(2 Corinthians 3:5)<\/strong>. Not a big deal, right? I noticed another family of 4 sit down, order, and pray as well. As we finished our meal, I went for a refill and prepared to leave. A young man approached me and asked if he could speak to me. He had tears on his face. He watched us pray for our food, watched the other family pray for their food, and he told me he hadn’t prayed in a long time. We had a good but quick conversation about the goodness of God, and he shared that he wanted to thank me for the example of prayer for him. I was entirely caught off guard, but it was a reminder that people are watching.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Another recent reminder was with a group that mentioned how I treated Brenda. As we were working hard at an outreach, I kept referring to her as “babe.” Again, no big deal, right? One of the men came to me afterward and said, what a great example of love you have for your wife, and you treat her and speak to her in such a loving way. He told me he needed to be better at showing love toward his wife and family. God calls us to love our wives as Christ loved the church\u00a0<\/span>(Ephesians 5:25)<\/strong>. Again, I was caught entirely off guard, but it was another reminder that people are watching.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Two simple, innocent gestures, nothing special, just living our faith outwardly on a daily basis. People are watching, and lives can be changed by living our faith. I want to encourage you to live out your faith so that those who are watching will be changed. But who is watching? It could be your kids, grandkids, your office workers, your mom, or your dad. I see so many incidents in others and myself that make me cringe and thought I should have acted differently. But in God’s grace and mercy, we can regroup and go out into a broken and lost world and make a difference. Because people are watching, both the lost and the saved.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

How are you doing living out your faith in public? Your faith is NOT private to you only; it is very public to help save the lost, rescue the struggling, and encourage those in your life. May God bless you with many opportunities to live out your faith this week! Go, make a difference because people are watching you!\u00a0 Be a disciple and make a disciple\u00a0(Matthew 28:18-20).<\/b><\/span><\/p>
